Obsidian is black, dark purple rock that is made from Water touching a Lava source block. It has the second highest blast resistance of the blocks that can be obtained by the user without editing devices (the highest being Bedrock). A diamond pickaxe is needed to mine it. It is recommended to use a diamond pickaxe with the efficiency enchantment, since the block will be mined quicker.
